Taxonomies

WordPress taxonomies allow you to organise your content types. As well as taxonomies associated with a post, you can set up global taxonomies which as associated with all content types.

This is especially useful when there is some overarching data structure to your content - for example a multi-venue website where certain pages, events, reviews etc. might have a venue.
